Zendaya Wears Avant-garde Look at the Women in Film Awards
For the Women in Film Awards, Zendaya glanced to the recent Paris Fashion Week runway. The 25-year-old actress wore a grey cotton maxidress embroidered with an oversize gold plate from Loewe’s spring 2022 collection, which was unveiled less than a week ago in Paris.
Zendaya accessorised with gold sculptural earrings and shiny gold Christian Louboutin shoes. For the outfit, the actress collaborated with her longtime stylist, image architect Law Roach. Roach captioned a video of Zendaya strolling the red carpet in the Loewe gown, “She was the Queen… @zendaya wearing @loewe.” “Do Something”
Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, presented the design house’s spring 2022 collection on October 1 during Paris Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by trippy and surrealist art, with many pieces bearing the same gold metal plating as Zendaya’s dress.
Zendaya has long been a red carpet style star to follow, consistently experimenting with avant garde ensembles, couture fashions, and diverse aesthetics. Last month, she made a statement at the Venice Film Festival for the opening of her highly anticipated film “Dune,” in which she referenced the film’s sci-fi concept in a custom, form-fitting Balmain gown inspired by sand dunes.
Roach discussed Zendaya and her much-watched style in an interview with WWD during the Venice Film Festival.
“Zendaya is one of those girls who can do practically everything and enjoys taking risks,” he remarked. “She is a true fashion student.” I bring her items that make me feel something, and she feels something because it makes me feel something.”
Zendaya was among the recipients at the Women in Film Awards, along with Marlee Matlin and Jean Smart. The organization’s educational and humanitarian projects, as well as its campaign for gender balance in the business, profit from the annual awards event.
