Corona Cases Update: India Records Coronavirus Cases, 18,346 In Last 24 Hrs
In keeping with the recent declining trend in Coronavirus incidence, India has reported 18,346 new cases in the last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry, the instances registered on Tuesday are the fewest in 209 days.
Active cases in the country contribute for less than 1% of all cases and are now at 0.75 percent, the lowest since March 2020. The active caseload in India is 2,52,902, the lowest in 201 days. The country’s recovery rate is on the rise, currently standing at 97.93 percent, the highest since March 2020. In the last 24 hours, 29,639 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 3,31,50,886.
Kerala
Kerala, which had crossed the 30,000 barrier after the Onam festival in August, documented less than 10,000 cases — 8,850 to be exact — and 149 deaths on Monday, bringing the caseload to 47,29,083 and the death toll to 25,526, according to PTI.
One of the possible explanations for the drop in new cases below 10,000 is that fewer tests are performed on Sunday than on other days of the week.
According to an official press statement, 17,007 persons have recovered from the virus since Sunday, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 45,74,206 and the number of current cases to 1,28,736. According to the report, 74,871 samples were examined in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra
According to a health department official, Maharashtra recorded 2,026 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest number since February 2, and 26 fatalities, bringing the total number of infections to 65,62,514 and the death toll to 1,39,233. Maharashtra had reported 1,927 COVID-19 incidences as of February 2.
In comparison to Sunday, when Maharashtra recorded 2,692 COVID-19 cases and 41 fatalities, the state saw a small decrease in the number of illnesses and deaths caused by coronavirus infection.
The number of recoveries in Maharashtra increased to 63,86,059 in the last 24 hours, with 5,389 people discharged from hospitals, the official said, leaving the state with 33,637 active cases.
The case recovery rate in Maharashtra is now 97.31%, with a death rate of 2.12%. With 1,15,450 fresh tests, the total number of samples tested in Maharashtra increased to 5,93,37,713, according to the official.
