Ruka Africa Invites Travelers to Virtually Fly Over Tanzania with Free Experiential App

Ruka Africa, Tanzania’s foremost scenic fly operator, has launched a free experience app that can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play.
The app takes listeners on a journey similar to that of passengers on Ruka’s picturesque flights, highlighting the history and culture of places like Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Manyara, and Serengeti National Park. The narrative is aimed to give a compelling experience, whether listeners are on board or at home, and each tour follows a specific flight path.

Ruka Africa CEO Clinton Swai, an Arusha native, established the app to enhance the in-flight experience of passengers, but he claims he has discovered a global audience for Tanzania’s stories.

“We approached this app as a labour of love for Arusha, so hearing that listeners throughout the world are enjoying it has been rewarding,” he said. “Of course, we hope that anyone who hears us will want to visit the region in person, but we also hope that they will be able to become enthusiastic about the destination wherever they are.”

The app contains five separate stories that range in length from 20 minutes to slightly over an hour. Each one has 9 to 16 “stops” that let listeners skip ahead and learn about the topics that interest them the most.
