Entry into Ireland
Before arriving, you must fill out an online COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form (COVID-19 PLF). Paper forms are no longer accepted, and it is a criminal offense to travel to Ireland without having completed the necessary paperwork.
There is no longer a requirement for pre-departure testing before traveling to Ireland, with the exception of those who are not completely vaccinated against COVID-19 or who have recovered from COVID-19. The COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test must be negative within 72 hours of your arrival in Ireland if you have not received all of the recommended vaccinations or if you are recovering from a previous infection. You’ll also need to show confirmation that you’ve had your complete immunizations or that you’ve recovered from COVID-19.
From the 29th of November, if you’ve been in a scheduled nation (Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, or Zimbabwe), you won’t be able to go to Ireland since you’ve been in a scheduled country. There are a few exceptions to this rule.
The quarantine period in Ireland is 14 days if you have traveled from or visited a scheduled country within the 14-day period preceding your arrival in Ireland. You must be quarantined at the address specified on the Passenger Locator Form. In the absence of an exception, all travelers arriving from a scheduled country on days 2 and 8 of quarantine are required to undergo PCR testing. In accordance with the information you supplied on the Passenger Locator Form, the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE) will contact you to organize a PCR test. The only reasons you may need to leave your quarantine address is if there is an emergency, if you need to leave Ireland, or if you need to undergo a COVID-19 RT-PCR test.
If you do not adhere to these admission procedures, you may be subject to a fine of up to €2,500, imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
