Adding a familiar face in Kansas City Current defender Alana Cook (who hasn’t played for the USWNT since October 2023) and Houston Dash defender Avery Patterson (who received her first-ever senior national team call-up), Hayes brought back 19 of the 23 players from the SheBelieves Cup roster.

Stars like Mallory Swanson, Rose Lavelle, and Naomi Girma are still absent from the group. Naturally, Sophia Wilson, who recently revealed that she is expecting her first child, will not be competing for the USWNT for some time. This camp also includes Lynn Biyendolo and Jenna Nighswonger.

“This roster has Olympians returning, less experienced players continuing to try to prove themselves, a few uncapped players and some players who have seen and done it all,” Hayes stated in a statement. “This tournament will be a lot of fun because of the mix of players and the two games against a powerful Brazil squad that we last saw in the gold medal game.

“Every player is aware that they must earn every starting position, every roster slot, and every minute they receive as a bench finisher. It’s an exciting process to work with individuals that want to consistently perform at an elite level so they can continue to receive call-ups and compete at this level, and these two games continue that process.”
