In a very dramatic transfer, Hamas freed three additional Israeli captives on Saturday in return for Palestinian inmates, forcing the men to make persuasive speeches while brandishing guns.
As part of a 42-day cease-fire agreement that halted Israel-Hamas hostilities last month, the captive release marks the sixth in a tense sequence of exchanges. Israel arrested almost 1,000 Palestinians and agreed to a partial Israeli retreat in exchange for Hamas releasing 33 of the over 100 detainees gradually.
