Ozzy Osbourne passes at 76

A day before his death, Ozzy Osbourne gave one last look into his musical legacy.

The legendary rock star shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning performance on Instagram on Monday, July 21.

As a tribute to the conclusion of a period that shaped generations of rock music, the photo, which was titled “The Final Show,” showed Osbourne with his iconic comrades Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward.

Osbourne died the next day, July 22, at the age of 76.

In a statement to Metro, his family acknowledged the devastating news: “We must report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning with more sadness than words can express.”

He was surrounded by affection and with his family. At this time, we kindly ask that everyone respect the privacy of our family.

Osbourne was known to have struggled with Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis in 2020, yet the reason of his death has not been made public.

Since then, fans have flocked to the comment section of his final Instagram post to express their gratitude and sorrow, turning it into a virtual memorial.

One person commented, “Thank you for the music you gave us, Ozzy.” “I hope you find peace.” “RIP Ozzy Osbourne, the world won’t be the same without you,” said another admirer.

For those who followed him through decades of metal and music revolution, his goodbye message now feels like a gift and a last bow.
