With seven seconds remaining, Eric Dailey Jr. made the game-winning shot over two defenders to lead UCLA to a grueling 63-61 victory over Michigan State, ranked ninth, on Tuesday night.

The Bruins (17-6, 8-4 Big Ten), who won their sixth straight game and fifth against a ranked team, had 14 points from Skyy Clark and 13 from Tyler Bilodeau.

As time ran out, Jaden Akins hunched down in pain after his attempted game-winning 3-pointer bounced against the front of the rim. Magic Johnson, a Michigan State alumnus and Hall of Famer, stood up for the last few seconds.

Akins was the only player to score in double figures for the Spartans (18-4, 9-2) with 15 points.

The Bruins lost an 11-point lead in front of Hall of Famer and former player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the game was tied three times in the final seven minutes.

With 23 seconds remaining in a 61-61 game, Jaxon Kohler missed in the lane, collected his offensive rebound, and was penalized for traveling.
