The devastating news that Katie Thurston, who is well-known for her time on reality TV, has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 34.

The TV personality, who became engaged to comedian Jeff Arcuri in September of last year, discussed her recently discovered condition on social media on Saturday. However, she said that in order to finalize the specifics of her therapy, she had to postpone plans for Valentine’s Day.

“Life update: I have breast cancer,” she posted on her Instagram account.

“I watched every couple post about their Valentine’s Day festivities yesterday. To be honest, I felt jealous.

“Jeff took me to Hawaii, and then we were going to travel the world before finally establishing ourselves in NYC,” she added. However, since I need to return to Los Angeles for more tests and treatment, I spent my Vday organizing a place to reside.

“I spent my morning researching prior condition rules and insurance in New York City. In addition to meeting with my team to review the entire treatment plan, which will include chemotherapy, I made appointments for another biopsy, fertility, mental health, and surgery,” Katie continued.

In the weeks before her diagnosis, Katie experienced every feeling imaginable, but now she is focusing on something more significant. The goal of the reality star is to increase awareness of breast cancer.
