14 Swing Voters: “Hell Hath No Fury Like a Voter Who Is Scorned.” This is what they should say. The Biden administration has been in place for a year now, and most of us can agree on one thing: we still live in a country that is very divided. But what about the voices from the middle, the people who don’t agree with everyone else? Swing voters are thought to be one of the most important groups in the midterm elections, so we wanted to hear from them about how they felt about President Biden’s first year in office and the state of American democracy.
When pollster Frank Luntz met with 14 people who said they were independents or moderates this month, he wanted to know their thoughts. It also looks like they’re getting tired of it. As Nick from Pennsylvania said, “We’ve been promised so much by previous politicians, and it just seems like nothing ever changes.”

This week, Luntz tells Jane about the group’s findings, which show that independents are very unhappy and don’t see a lot of hope for both social gatherings. That’s what he learned. “Independents are easy to get rid of.” They don’t like the left or the exactitude. Those who don’t like both of them don’t like either one of them. And in some ways, they’re even worse because they don’t see a way out.
