Next month, Drew Barrymore would be thrilled to attend SNL’s 50th anniversary party.
The 49-year-old actress said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that she is eager and willing to return to Saturday Night Live, adding, “I don’t know to what extent, but I will be there.”
The actress revealed that she is open to playing any part in the program after working with Orlando Bloom on the Super Bowl commercial for MSC Cruises.
“I’ve hosted six times, so if it’s just to be there, that’s enough for me,” she stated. “Coach, you may include me if anyone needs me! I’ll be there, but I have no idea what will happen.
After playing Gertie in Spielberg’s E.T., the Blended actress hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in 1982 at the age of seven. She then became a member of the Five-Timers Club after hosting five more times in 1999, 2001, 2004, 2007, and 2009.
Barrymore recalled how former writer and cast member Tim Kazurinsky helped her feel at ease on set for her debut on the sketch comedy show.
He also made an appearance in the opening monologue. “For whatever reason, they just felt like we were a really good match,” he said.
“He was very kind and nurturing and funny, and he was really good to me.”
