Jessie Buckley reveals why BAFTA win felt extra ‘special’ with Cillian Murphy

Jessie Buckley gushingly explained how special the moment was when Cillian Murphy presented her with BAFTA award.

The 36-year-old Irish actress was crowned Best Leading Actress for her performance in Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet at the 79th British Academy Film Awards held on February 22.

During Jessie’s recent appearance on The One Show, she talked about her win and shared that she will “never forget” the night.

“It’s been a lot to take in over the last few days, but to walk up to somebody that I know and recognise…” the actress said of being presented with an award by Cillian.

She went on to gush over the Oppenheimer star, “Who’s Irish and is an actor that I deeply, deeply respect and admire and share that moment with him, was a really special moment and one I won’t forget.”

“I might have had a few margaritas,” Jessie added.

The actress who portrayed the role of William Shakespeare’s wife Agnes in the film, said in her acceptance speech, “This is really such an incredible honour. As a little girl I never thought in a million years I would be allowed to make a film but here I am.”

“When I arrived into my agent Lindy King in London, and I had nuclear bad fake tan on, white hoop earrings, a polka dot red skirt and dress, and I had the audacity to say to her that I dreamed to someday be something like Judi Dench.”

She continued, “I don’t know how on God’s green earth she even dreamed that was possible. Thank you Lindy for always encouraging me to be disobedient and curious and human.

“This really does belong to the women who have taught me and continue to teach me how to do it differently.”

Kristen Bell has one clear rule for the night, as she has been preparing to return as host of the 32nd Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 45-year-old actress will host the show for the third time which is going to air on Netflix in the first week of March.

While many award show hosts lean into sharp jokes, Bell insisted her tone will be lighter.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she made it clear, “I don’t roast people.”

Bell made it clear that she does not like roasting other people, “I want to keep it happy and fun. If I’m going to roast anybody, it’s going to be me.”

Reportedly, Bell has been busy preparing for the big event at home. When asked who she rehearses in front of, she said, “My kids. If a joke survives that room, it can survive anything.”

The actress added that she has been doing “a lot” of preparations for the ceremony.

“We rehearse the scripts, the beats, the walk-ups, the walk-aways, the camera marks,” she informed.

“I practice reading a teleprompter, I practice pretending to not read a teleprompter even though I absolutely am. By show day, it’s basically muscle memory,” Kristen added.

For those unversed, Bell previously made history as the awards’ first-ever host in 2018 and returned last year.

Bell also revealed that she has been working on the script with her close friend Monica Padman.

“I’ve been working with my dear friend Monica Padman. She knows how to write for my voice better than anyone.”

Reflecting on the upcoming ceremony, she shared in a statement, “I’ve enjoyed hosting the show every time, so it was an easy decision to come back for a third. What I’m most excited for is the fact that I’ll be doing what every actor does best… sing.”

Katherine was a quiet and kind soul.

Neighbours of Martin Short’s daughter, Katherine Hartley Short, has spoken out over the heartbreaking news of her death at age 42.

A next-door neighbour exclusively told Us Weekly that Katherine had built a good reputation in the neighbourhood.

The resident described her as a “great neighbour and gardener,” offered their condolences after the social worker passed, on Monday, February 23, 2026.

“It’s incredibly sad,” said the neighbour, who asked to keep his identity anonymous.

Katherine’s care for her family and home was evident to everyone around her.

According to an eyewitness, she was full of life and had decorated her house for Valentine’s Day, including a wreath adorned with pink ribbons and flowers surrounding a large red heart displayed on her front door.

Another neighbour described her nature as introverted but friendly stating, “She was very nice but this is a quiet neighbourhood and to be fair, we don’t see too many neighbours usually out,” they said, adding that she didn’t throw parties, wasn’t loud and mostly kept to herself.

Reflecting on her death, the neighbour explained that her death was quite unexpected. They described it as a normal day, except that they noticed emergency responders in the area.

“I did see an ambulance and police cars on the street hours before news of her passing broke,” the neighbour added.

A third neighbour expressed similar sentiments, recalling that they occasionally saw Katherine outside her home. The resident said she seemed friendly and would sometimes wave or greet them with a simple, “Hi,” though their interactions remained brief.

Kelly Clarkson recalls music execs assuming she couldn’t write songs

Kelly Clarkson had a lot left to prove even after winning American Idol in 2002.

In a new interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 alongside fellow The Voice coach John Legend, Kelly shared that music execs assumed she couldn’t write songs as she came from American Idol.

The Grammy winner said, “I think the label was very against — I won a talent show. They did not know I was a writer, and it was very hard to get that part validated via them, so ‘Because of You’ was rejected the first album,” continued Kelly, referencing her debut album Thankful.

“They were like, ‘It doesn’t rhyme. It’s the worst song ever,’ like whatever, and I was like, ‘Well, it’s not really about that,'” she added.

Kelly would’ve been ok even if the song was released as an “album track” rather than a single.

“It’s just something that’s meaningful for me,” she said. “And I think what really bummed me, I was kind of figuring that out about the industry early on that a lot of people just don’t care. They don’t care about the art of it. They just want to make the money, right?”

Ultimately, the song was released on her 2004 album Breakaway after she fought for it.

“But then the fans, it blew up and it was like my biggest number one worldwide,” she recalled.

“I think that was the surprise of like no matter how much you can feel like the machine is against you, your fans will be there and they will be the reason why you get to continue to do and not the person, they’re probably going to be replaced,” added the superstar.

She added, “I had like five different label heads in a matter of years. You know what I’m saying?”

Sharing the big lesson, Kelly added, “They’re probably not going to be there, you know? So, it really is about doing what you love and really holding strong to that and I think I was surprised because I just didn’t see that coming.”

Because of You became the No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as No. 1 on the U.S. Pop Airplay chart. It has 840 million streams on Spotify and is still one of Kelly Clarkson’s best performing songs.

Jacob Elordi, Alison Oliver discuss ‘Wuthering Heights’ dog collar scene

Jacob Elordi and Alison Oliver are sharing insight into how a shocking dog collar scene was filmed for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights.

The disturbing moment comes towards the end of the film, when Nelly visits Heathcliff (Elordi) and his wife, Isabella (Oliver), at Wuthering Heights.

Nelly finds the duo living in shocking conditions, with Isabella chained to the fireplace via a dog collar and behaving like a dog.

“That was so much fun, that scene. I think that was Emerald kind of taking the killing of the dog and these really dark parts of the novel and putting them into this scene,” Elordi told Entertainment Weekly.

He continues, “I had so much fun because it’s at that point that Isabella and Heathcliff are completely off the deep end. They’re living in a kind of hell, you know?”

“For him, it’s a self-generated hell,” the Euphoria star said of Heathcliff. “It’s the moment that his obsession clicks over into something else — into a rabid desperation — and he loses any semblance of composure. It’s a nice point for the character, I think.”

In the sceen, Isabella gives Nelly a wink, which was Fennell’s spur-of-the-moment idea.

“We’d been shooting this scene all day, and I was like, ‘What if we just get a little wink at the end?'” Fennell said. “And it’s so camp, and it seems so out of sorts, but, of course, it was what we kept for the movie because it was so disturbing [and] because it was so at odds with what we were seeing, and yet it really explained everything.”

Wuthering Heights is in theaters now.

Keith Urban is reportedly rooting to reconcile with his broken family after Nicole Kidman split.

As per a recent report by Radaronline.com, Keith is feeling “empty” after his divorce from Nicole following their 19 years of marriage.

After the divorce filing back in September, Keith and Nicole have been living separately. Nicole lives in Australia with their daughter, Faith and Sunday, with primary custody of her daughters while the country singer remains on the road with his High and Alive Tour.

A source told the outlet, “Keith has been genuinely rattled by how empty everything feels now that Nicole and the girls aren’t part of his everyday routine.

“He’s used to the noise and chaos of family life, and without that, the silence has been confronting.”

The insider explained, “Being on tour once gave him a sense of drive and momentum, but lately it’s only highlighted what he’s missing at home. He’s pouring a huge amount of emotional energy into planning a special summer getaway with Sunday and Faith because he wants to reconnect in a way that feels real and unhurried.

“And, ideally, he’d love Nicole to join them, even if it’s just for part of the trip, so the girls can see that their parents are still capable of standing together for their sake.”

Keith plans a clever move to reunite with his daughters in the Bahamas, as he would also have to perform there on March 2.

“The Bahamas has always been a place where they felt relaxed and connected as a family” and “for Keith, it represents common ground – not Los Angeles, not Nashville, not anywhere tied to lawyers or court schedules. It’s somewhere filled with positive memories, laughter, and downtime.”

Adam Sandler makes brutal confession: ‘I do not love comedy first’
Adam Sandler reveals first real passion and it was not comedy

In his long career, Adam Sandler is known for playing a variety of different comedic roles, from man-child characters to slapstick humour.

So this may come as a shock to some of his fans when he says “comedy” was not his first passion. Instead, it was music, the actor says.

“I always used music. It’s always made me the happiest,” the star shares, adding he first founded a band when he was 12.

These revelations come at the 2026 ASCAP Experience, where, in addition to being a guest of honour, he received the ASCAP Founders Award for his work in songwriting and performing.

Sandler also raves about his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, who he says are carrying on his passion for music.

“Both of my daughters, they jam in the house all day long like I used to,” he continues. “I walked by last night, and my one kid’s playing the piano, writing a song.”

“My other kid’s in New York now. Every time I visit her, all her friends are like, ‘All she does is play guitar all day long.’ It’s really cool. Music’s the best.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Sandler recalls making money while playing a guitar at subway stations in Manhattan during his days studying at NYU.

“It was always nerve-racking,” the Happy Gilmore star notes. “I used to play ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ on guitar and sing that all the time.”

“Always the showstopper. Always changed everybody’s moods — maybe they just didn’t like the way I sang it,” Sandler concludes.
