Carhartt has established a reputation for producing outdoor clothing that can withstand anything the elements throw at it. Carhartt has increased its collection of cold weather gear this year to accommodate almost any apparel preference, function, and warmth rating. In same vein, Carhartt has developed its own Warmth Rating scale of 1 to 4: Warm, Warmer, Warmest, and Extreme Warmth.
Many of us are terrified by the meteorological term “polar vortex.” If you’ve ever been in one, you understand the need of proper apparel. Whether you’re merely walking to work, going on a hike, or working outside, long-lasting warm clothing is priceless. It’s a wise investment that no one can ever regret.
Here’s a taste of what Carhartt has to offer at each rating level:
Warm
The Rugged Flex Relaxed Fit Canvas Jacket, available in women’s sizes, has mesh lining for added ventilation. This jacket also incorporates Rugged Flex® technology, which allows for smooth movement. It’s adaptable, breathable, and attractive, and it’s available in three colours in sizes ranging from XS to 3X.
Warmer
The Rain Defender® Relaxed Fit Lightweight Insulated Jacket looks and feels more like a typical activewear down jacket. This jacket is 1.75 ounces in weight and contains a CORDURA® exterior material that resists rips, scuffs, and abrasions. In addition, as the name implies, it is water-resistant in mild rain. The Rain Defender jacket is available in a variety of colours (eight in total) and tall sizes.
Warmest
The Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Flannel-Lined Active Jac has the warmest rating. The combination of water-repellent, wind-resistant tough cotton duck and a quilted-flannel inner makes this Carhartt classic both durable and comfortable. It’s a wonderful heavyweight outdoor jacket for work or just to keep you warm on the coldest winter days.
Extreme Heat
Carhartt presents the Yukon Extremes® Full Swing® Insulated Coat when you need a jacket that can withstand the weather. This jacket has the appearance and feel of a classic Carhartt jacket, right down to the corduroy-lined collar and luminous tape for added safety when working outside. It also contains numerous Carhartt innovations for wind, rain, and abrasion resistance, as well as lots of pockets.
Accessories
Carhartt also has your back when it comes to keeping your head and hands toasty. The Akron Hat, for example, is a terrific alternative to the standard stocking cap or beanie, with Sherpa inside, ear flaps, and a ribbed design. These one-size-fits-all caps are available in two hues.
Depending on your activities, you may choose between the heavyweight Waterproof Insulated Glove, which has a gripping palm and a waterproof lining, and the Work-Flex High Dexterity Glove, which provides dexterity without removing your gloves.
This winter, Carhartt has you covered when the temperatures drop with an ever-expanding assortment of clothes for indoors and outdoors designed for a variety of applications and tastes.
