Amidst Donald Trump’s threats to integrate Canada with the United States and a trade war with the United States, new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called for a fast election.

Former Bank of England Governor Mr. Carney declared on Sunday that a five-week general election campaign will precede a vote on April 28.

Before Mr. Trump announced a trade war, his ruling Liberals were set to lose this year’s election in a historic way.

In addition to imposing taxes on exports to his nation, the US president has stated on several occasions that Canada ought to become the 51st state in the union.

“Building a robust economy and a more secure Canada must be our response.

“Canada isn’t a legitimate country, according to President Trump. His goal is to destroy us so that America may own us.
