The legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni appears to be escalating as the actress has made fresh allegations.

The attorney for the former Gossip Girl star and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, sent a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman, who is overseeing their case, appealing a gag order once more.

According to Deadline, lawyer Esra Hudson wrote on the couple’s behalf on Friday night, requesting the restraining order to stop Baldoni’s legal team from making “extrajudicial statements.”

“It is not a gag order to require counsel to follow the ethical rules that govern them; rather, it is a mechanism that would ensure that the conduct of counsel outside of the courtroom does not prejudice the proceedings in this Court,” Hudson wrote.

However, given the high prominence of this issue, the letter said, “The Wayfarer Parties are trying to draw a dangerous false equivalency that may have profound consequences not just for this case, but for other women who are sexually harassed in the workplace.”

Baldoni’s purported smear campaign against Lively may still be going on, according to Lively’s attorney.

“What’s even more concerning, though, is that the retaliation campaign that Ms. Lively claimed in her complaint, with a lot of supporting evidence, has extremely damaging behind-the-scenes components. These include [Baldoni’s crisis PR chief] Melissa Nathan regularly interacting with her extensive network of tabloid media outlets to influence a constant flow of negative media about Ms. Lively, as well as a sophisticated and ‘untraceable’ digital social media manipulation.”

According to the Lively-Reynolds Parties, these activities have persisted and maybe even escalated after the filing of the CRD Complaint. “If this behavior persists, it will seriously impair the administration of justice in this case,” the four-page letter ended.
