Arnold Schwarzenegger is adding another trophy to his already full shelf, but this time it isn’t for bodybuilding, acting, or politics.
The South East European Film Festival (SEEfest) in Los Angeles will present the renowned Legacy Award to the action star and sustainable energy champion on Wednesday night, kicking off the festival’s 20th edition.
The prize was established to honor the “iconic movie star, who began his trailblazing immigrant journey from an Austrian village nestled 16 miles from the Slovenian border in Styria region, dubbed the ‘Green Heart of Austria.'”
Schwarzenegger, known for more than just his biceps and famous one-liners, has used the USC Schwarzenegger Institute to support sustainable energy and persuade world leaders to choose a greener tomorrow.
SEEfest commended this dedication, stating: “Mr. Schwarzenegger has approached the challenge of building not just better but also a kinder future with hope for the new generation with his customary determination and relentless optimism.”
Though the Terminator will not be present to receive the prize, he has arranged for a recognizable face to do so.
Emmy-winning host of American Ninja Warrior Matt Iseman, who won The New Celebrity Apprentice during Schwarzenegger’s tenure as “the Boss,” will collect the award.
Iseman’s long-standing collaboration with Schwarzenegger includes hosting the Austrian World Summit on Climate Issues, raising funds for After School All Stars, and, yes, arranging strongman competitions at the Arnold Sports Festival.
Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t slowing down.
In the forthcoming action-comedy The Man with the Bag, he’ll portray Santa Claus against Alan Ritchson from Reacher.
With Adam Shankman (Hairspray) directing and Schwarzenegger portraying a robust, potentially brawling Kris Kringle, it seems like a Christmas picture in which sleigh bells may be drowned out by pyrotechnics.
