    An Arizona was arrested after police discovered 183 animals in his freezer, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.  

    Michael Patrick Turland was charged with 94 counts of animal cruelty, with canine and rabbits among the many animals he saved frozen. In an interview with authorities, Turland confessed to freezing a number of the 183 animals whereas they have been nonetheless alive, the sheriff’s workplace stated Thursday.

    Turland’s arrest got here after an animal welfare test April 3. In response to the police report, a girl had complained that Turland agreed to breed her snakes earlier than they vanished.     Turland’s motive for freezing the animals stays unclear. Authorities have been looking for his spouse, Brooklyn Beck.

    A press release by the sheriff’s workplace stated that “when interviewed, Turland finally admitted to putting a number of the animals within the freezer after they have been nonetheless alive.”

    The U.S. Home of Representatives and Senate handed payments in 2019 that made animal cruelty a federal crime.
