Aimee Maguire, an Ireland women’s spinner, was cited for questionable bowling behavior.

Following the first ODI match against India in Rajkot, when she took 3 for 57 from eight overs, Ireland Women left-arm spinner Aimee Maguire has been cited for a questionable bowling motion.

Maguire must have her action examined at an ICC-accredited testing facility within 14 days of the incident, under ICC standards. She can keep bowling until the test’s outcome is revealed.

In 2023, Maguire, at eighteen, made her debut abroad. With a high of 5 for 19 against England in a one-day match last year, she has taken 25 wickets overall in her 11 ODI and 9 T20I appearances till her.

“The players and staff are supporting Aimee, telling her that she will return with a stronger action and that she will continue to shine on the international stage for many years to come,” stated Graeme West, Cricket Ireland’s director of high performance.

“The experience and expertise that we possess within our High Performance Coaching and Support Services at Cricket Ireland will provide Aimee with the care, support and guidance to deliver the remedial programme which will begin following the team’s return from India.”

Ireland is behind 1-0 in the three-match series after losing the opening ODI by six wickets. Rajkot will host the last two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on January 12 and 15.
