Industry Survey Shows Business Back on Track. Multimedia Plus, a provider of training and communications technology platforms, has issued a post-COVID-19 impact assessment, which assesses the impact of COVID-19 on “urgent industry challenges focusing on technology, training, and expenditure objectives,” according to the business.
The year-over-year poll, according to David Harouche, chief technology officer, chief executive officer, and creator of Multimedia Plus, “serves as an eye-opener that the move to normal business is well underway.” We expected merchants and hotel executives to alter priorities, and the data back us up.”
According to Multimedia Plus, 64.6 percent of respondents indicated recruiting is “their main issue in staffing up for the Christmas season,” compared to 36.5 percent in 2020. And, according to the company, 39 percent of respondents said supply chain issues are their top concern heading into the holiday season, “with 35 percent citing staffing Issues as their main business concern,” a stark contrast from 52 percent of 2020 respondents who said new pandemic closures were their top concern.
In terms of IT, 58.2 percent of companies asked indicated their 2022 IT expenditure will be the same, while 29.7 percent said they planned to spend 10% or more. In terms of leadership and safety training, 39 percent identified leadership development training as the most important goal for 2022. According to the last study, it was almost tied with safety instruction.
According to Harouche, these goals necessitate more rapid training and communication. “With the Christmas season rapidly coming, it’s evident that staffing, onboarding, and leadership training are significant considerations, as opposed to safety training last year,” he added.
As stores and restaurants business begin to rapidly staff up, “onboarding new colleagues swiftly and effectively is critical,” according to the firm. New protocols and procedures, such as operations, sanitation, contactless payment, new HR standards, and much more, must be presented to everybody in a consistent manner.”
And, as events alter from state to state, and even county to county, “communications must be quick and focused in order to be effective.” Indeed, the rate at which these changes are occurring necessitates that employees be contacted on a regular basis via their mobile devices before they even set foot in a shop. It is more crucial than ever to communicate with them immediately and frequently.”
