Enid Parham remembers family and friends going to jail for marijuana-related offenses and having their households taken away when she was a baby rising up in Detroit. Now, she’s working as a hashish chef in Michigan’s legalized leisure marijuana business.

Parham, who additionally goes by Chef Sunflower and owns the Detroit-based firm Fortunate Pistil Catering, is one of some Black ladies working within the state’s 3-year-old leisure hashish business.
