Ohio practice derailment in East Palestine; Hearth prompts evacuations

    An enormous fireplace broke out and prompted evacuations Friday evening after a practice derailed in northeastern Ohio.

    About 50 automobiles of the practice derailed in East Palestine, close to Ohio’s border with Pennsylvania. The practice was touring from Madison, Illinois, to Conway, Pennsylvania, rail operator Norfolk Southern stated in an announcement Saturday.

    There have been no instant experiences of accidents, and authorities haven’t launched any further details about what might have precipitated the derailment.

    The Village of East Palestine notified residents of an evacuation order Saturday morning for folks inside a mile of the derailment. Residents outdoors of this radius had been urged to shelter in place.

    Emergency crews reply to fireplace
