An A-League derby match in Australia was deserted after followers invaded the pitch, injuring a goalkeeper in an unsightly scene on Saturday.
Video exhibits chaos erupting after a flare landed on the pitch, with followers pouring onto the sector and surrounding match official Alex King and Melbourne Metropolis goalkeeper Tom Glover.
Moments later, a fan threw what seemed to be a steel trash bin at Glover’s head.
Metropolis mentioned Glover obtained medical therapy and “probably” has a concussion. The membership later mentioned Glover wanted a number of stitches for a laceration to his face and he was taken to the hospital for additional check-ups.
Melbourne Metropolis was up 1-0 towards Melbourne Victory within the first half when the chaos started at AAMI Park in Melbourne.
