A former Colorado police officer was sentenced to 45days in jail and three years probation final Friday for not intervening when a fellow officer arrested and injured a 73-year-old lady with dementia in June of 2020.

The previous officer, Daria Jalali, had already pleaded responsible within the abusive arrest of Karen Garner following an incident in Loveland, Colorado. Her sentencing comes on the heels of a 2020 police accountability invoice handed for lawmakers to be charged after they fail to intervene throughout police brutality occurrences by fellow officers.

Austin Hopp, the previous officer who arrested Garner after she left a retailer with out paying for about $14 value of things, was sentenced in Might to 5 years in jail for his tough remedy of Garner. The Loveland Police Division settled a lawsuit that paid Garner $3 million, as her household believes her situation was exacerbated by the extreme arrest.
