Samsung said last week that it would be introducing many new smartphones in the near future. We all know when it’s going to happen.

Samsung revealed in a blog post that the next installment of Galaxy Unpacked, the company’s flagship product reveal event series, will take place on February 9 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. Those who wish to watch the event live will be able to do so on Samsung’s website and, assuming the feed is anything like previous Unpacked streaming, on the company’s YouTube page.

While Samsung has made it plain that it will not reveal what will be demonstrated at Unpacked until the occasion itself begins, we’re confident that the Galaxy S22 sequence of phones, which will include at the very least the S22 and S22 Extremely, will be the stars of the show. It is unlikely that a new Galaxy Word will be released this year (or maybe ever again), but renders of the S22 Extremely on MySmartPrice indicate that it will retain several Word-like characteristics, such as a boxy design and an S Pen pen docking station (which will be available separately). It also has a 6.8-inch display and a quad-camera array on the back, which makes it an adequate muscular phone for the price.

Another report, which was picked up by PocketNow, said that the Galaxy Tab S8, S8 Plus, and S8 Extremely tablets will be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked. These will be offered in three different sizes: 11 inches, 12.4 inches, and 14.6 inches, respectively, and each model will be available with both 5G mobile assistance and in WiFi-only configurations as well.

If there are any other surprises in store, we’ll simply have to sit here and twiddle our thumbs until February 9th. At the very least, some of these devices will cost more than $1,000, so you’d better start hunting for free change behind the sofa cushions right now.
