“Conspiracy” is a chilling political thriller that unfolds in the heart of London’s elite power circles.
Michael Fassbender plays Thomas Vexley, a former investigative journalist turned disillusioned recluse. After the mysterious death of his younger brother — a government analyst who supposedly committed suicide — Thomas is pulled back into a web of secrets he thought he’d left behind.
Haunted by unanswered questions and driven by guilt, Thomas stumbles upon a leaked recording his brother left behind. It hints at something massive: Project Daedalus — an off-the-record surveillance initiative run by a clandestine unit within the British government, with roots extending into international finance and military operations.
Rosamund Pike plays Eleanor Bryce, a high-ranking intelligence officer caught between her duty to the nation and the secrets she’s sworn to protect. As Thomas inches closer to the truth, Eleanor must decide whether to protect the system or expose it.
With help from political whistleblower Nadia Okoro (Cynthia Erivo) and a morally torn ex-agent (Mark Strong), Thomas navigates encrypted trails, intercepted calls, and layers of deception that go all the way to the Prime Minister’s cabinet.
The climax takes place during a live broadcast of a parliamentary hearing — where Thomas, risking his life, plays the entire unredacted recording. The fallout shakes the corridors of power. Arrests are made, but the ending remains ambiguous. Though the conspiracy is partially exposed, deeper forces remain in the shadows.
The final shot shows Thomas walking away from the Houses of Parliament, his name cleared — but forever marked.
