For leaving him out of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds is expressing regret to Rob McElhenney, his longtime friend and collaborator.

On April 14, the 48-year-old, who is involved in many It Ends With Us litigation with his wife Blake Lively, apologized to his pal on Instagram for his birthday.

On McElhenney’s special day, Ryan shared a compilation of films with the description, “I’m submitting this to the International Film Festival of Wales, Short Films category.” Cheers to @robmcelhenney’s bday.

The Green Lantern actor acknowledged in the first scene of the video that he was more than “mortified” that his pal had been left out of the critically praised movie.

“Happy birthday, Robert!” he exclaimed. Another year, another visit to the old Keith Moon, my god. God, there have been a lot of highs and lows.

You had amazing highs when you had a cameo in the Deadpool movie and amazing lows when you weren’t included in the movie. To make up for it, we’ve included you in a number of my other movies for your birthday this year. You may watch them all at your neighborhood movie theater or any location that sells Laserdisc.

For those who aren’t familiar, the actor tried to put the star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia into Deadpool & Wolverine, but he ended up cutting the sequence since it didn’t exactly match the plot of the movie.
