Conflicts in Syria have claimed the lives of over 600 people since violence broke out between supporters of the government and those believed to be loyal to the overthrown President Bashar al Assad.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the death toll puts the two days of violence among the bloodiest since the conflict in Syria started 14 years ago.
The administration attributed the bloodshed to “individual actions” and claimed it was reacting to attacks by Assad’s remaining soldiers.
In addition to 120 pro-Assad combatants and 89 members of security services, 428 civilians were murdered, the British-based SOHR said.
