During the 67th Awards Ceremony, Charli XCX was given her first Grammy.
In the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album category, the 32-year-old pop sensation took home the prize for her popular album Brat.
Those nominated in the same category as the Apple hitmaker were Justice, Kaytranada, Zedd, and Four Tet.
Given that Charli was nominated in eight categories for her great pop album, this year’s first prize might be just one of many that the singer receives.
She is vying for Best Dance Pop Recording for Von Dutch, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Guess alongside Billie Eilish, Best Pop Solo Performance for Apple, Album of the Year for Brat, and 360, Best Music Video and Record of the Year, in addition to her winning category.
Since she was nominated twice for her 2015 duet with Iggy Azalea, Fancy, but failed to win either, this honor represents Charli’s first Grammy.
“My vibe is just wanting to have a good time,” Charli previously told W Magazine while talking about her nomination. To be honest, I never anticipated this, given I wasn’t even considered for the Grammys the previous year. The problem is that it gets enjoyable wherever I go, therefore I’m confident I’ll find a solution.
