Zoe Saldaña had to inform her kid about the appropriate time to listen to Kendrick Lamar.
The actress discussed navigating new musical tastes in her family, as one of her boys expressed interest in the rapper.
The 46-year-old Emilia Pérez actress recently went on Jimmy Kimmel Live and was asked if she watched the Super Bowl.
While she acknowledged to not watching because she had taken the day off, she did say that her kid was very interested in the halftime performance.
“He looked amazing, and he’s such a great artist,” Saldaña remarked of Lamar’s performance. “My twin, Cy, asked me that night. He says, ‘When will I be old enough to listen to Kendrick Lamar?'”
“I’d say maybe 14, 15.” But he’s ten now, so yeah,” she said. “But he’s an excellent artist. I told Cy that he’s a fantastic musician, and when you’re old enough, you’ll be able to listen to and enjoy his music.”
Although they did not watch the game together, the actress revealed that another way she and her boys spend quality time is by having haircuts at home.
“Well, they don’t want to go to the barber,” she explained. “I begged them. ‘Why don’t we simply have breakfast and go to the barber?’ And they say, ‘No, you chopped it!’ “So there I was, cutting their hair like five inches to one, four inches to the other, three inches to—I was just cutting.”
