The N.B.A. gained’t schedule video games on Election Day in November, in hopes of encouraging voting.

The Nationwide Basketball Affiliation mentioned Tuesday that it could not schedule any video games on Election Day, Nov. 8, in an effort to encourage followers, gamers and officers to vote.

All 30 groups will play the evening earlier than the election as a part of what the league is asking a “civic engagement evening.”

The league ordinarily treats Election Day like another on the schedule. There have been 4 video games on Election Day in 2018 and 6 on the day in 2016. The 2020 season had not but began by Election Day that 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
