Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya embarked on their lifelong journey by solemnising their union in a traditional ceremony on December 4, 2024. The couple, who had carefully guarded their relationship from the public eye, chose to make their commitment official after a private ring exchange on August 8, 2024. Now, Sobhita shared some glimpses of the couple’s first Pongal celebration as newlyweds.
Sobhita Dhulipala stuns in red saree for Pongal celebration
Taking to her Instagram stories, Sobhita shared glimpses of her first Pongal celebration with her husband, Naga Chaitanya. The couple was seen enjoying the yummy food on one slide, while on another, she dropped a photo of a bonfire with the caption, “Bhogi, renewal, transformation.” She then posted a photo of a rangoli adorned by a few marigold petals, which we feel she might have made, and extended warm wishes to her fans.
For the day, Sobhita donned a simple red saree with a golden border. She paired it with a beige-hued blouse and accessorised her look with gold earrings and red bangles. She completed her look with subtle makeup, and a bindi and tied her hair in a bun. Sobhita also shared a photo of her and Chay’s feet at the side of a rangoli poster. The duo also enjoyed yummy food made for the festivities.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala’s secret engagement
In August 2024, the couple had a private engagement, followed by a traditional Telugu wedding on December 4, 2024, in the presence of their loved ones. Sobhita looked resplendent in a golden-hued Uppada silk saree, adorned with intricate zari work, a true reflection of the rich Telugu tradition. She chose the same golden blouse for her engagement, a nod to the cultural significance of the event. Draped in a mix of textiles sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh, Sobhita was keen to honor her roots and the rich tradition of her culture.

Naga Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, shared the first wedding pictures of his son and daughter-in-law, Sobhita. His heartfelt caption expressed the profound joy and emotion he felt as he watched Sobhita and Chay embark on this beautiful journey together. He warmly welcomed ‘dear Sobhita’ to the family, a sentiment that resonated with many. The rest of his post read:
