Sonakshi Sinha hit back at Shaktiman fame, Mukesh Khanna after he slammed the actress for being unable to answer a question from Ramayana in 2019 on the show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The actress slammed Mukesh as he had raised a question about Shatrughan Sinha’s upbringing. Mukesh Khanna apologised to Sonakshi and Shatrughan and stated that he had no intention of tarnishing either’s image. But, now Shatrughan Sinha hit back at him for insulting his daughter.
Shatrughan Sinha clapped back at Mukesh Khanna for questioning Sonakshi Sinha’s upbringing
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama. Shatrughan Sinha defended Sonakshi for not being able to answer a question on Ramyan. He added that if anyone has a problem with his daughter not being able to answer questions, they better look at themselves. Who even qualified them to be an expert in all these things? Without taking names, he asked who was appointed as the guardian of the Hindu religion. In Shatrughan’s words:
“I believe someone has a problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?”
Shatrughan added that he is extremely proud of his children, especially Sonakshi Sinha, who paved her way into the industry. She is his pride, and he won’t let anyone talk less of her. Not being able to answer a question about Ramayan doesn’t mean she is a bad Hindu, and she doesn’t need a certificate from anyone. In Shatrughan’s words:
“I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone.”
Mukesh Khanna reacts to Sonakshi Sinha slamming him for raising questions about Shatrughan Sinha’s upbringing
Talking to News9, Mukesh Khanna shared that he always knew that he was antagonising Sonakshi Sinha by taking her name for not being able to answer a question related to Ramayana in 2019. He also added that he had no malicious intention to malign Sonakshi or Shatrughan, while the latter is his senior, and they share a very good bond. In Mukesh’s words:
“I knew I was antagonising her by taking her name from that incident in the famous Kaun Banega Crorepati show. But I had no malicious intention to malign her or her father, who is my senior, and I have a very cordial relationship with him.”
He further clarified that he used Sonakshi Sinha’s reference to teach the younger generation who rely on Google and YouTube to learn about stuff. Mukesh added that they all have vast knowledge, which is preserved in culture, Sanskriti, and history, and should be known by everyone, even the younger generation. Adding that the younger generation should feel proud about all these, Mukesh mentioned:
“Here I had a Hi-Fi case in front of me of her which I could use to teach others. Fathers, sons, daughters. We have a huge and vast knowledge preserved in our culture, Sanskriti and history which every youth of today should know. And not only know but also feel proud about it. That’s all.”
