Disgraced hip-hop entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested that a court release him on a $50 million bail as he awaits sentencing for offenses linked to prostitution.
The Brooklyn-based Metropolitan Detention Center has hazardous circumstances, according to Combs’s attorney, who also pointed out that other people convicted of similar crimes were usually freed before to sentence.
“Sean Combs should not be in jail for this conduct,” Marc Agnifilo stated in a court filing on Tuesday.
“In fact, he may be the only person currently in a United States jail for being any sort of John, and certainly the only person in jail for hiring adult male escorts for him and his girlfriend.”
A request for comment was not immediately answered by a representative of the US attorney’s office in Manhattan.
In the past, prosecutors have maintained that he is still a flight danger and should not be released on bond.
One of the most significant hip-hop producers of all time, the 55-year-old, was found guilty earlier this month on two charges of transportation to participate in prostitution and could spend up to ten years behind bars.
He is accused of transporting his girlfriends and male prostitutes around the United States for sex.
