After receiving harsh criticism for her previous album cover, Sabrina Carpenter’s latest one has once again caused a rift on the internet.
By presenting the new cover for her next album, Man’s Best Friend, the former Disney star—who first gained notoriety for her part in Girl Meets World—has gone viral on the internet.
On Wednesday, June 25, the Espresso hitmaker replaced the original cover with two new monochromatic photos on Instagram.
“I signed some copies of Man’s Best Friend for you guys & here is a new alternate cover approved by God available now on my website,” she said as the description for the photo.
Fans engaged in an online argument about this article, and the comments area was inundated with conflicting responses.
“Oh, this is c**ty,” said a third. It serves vintage Hollywood style.
“Why does it feel like her publicist told her to do this?” one fan said, expressing dissatisfaction with the substitution.
“It’s giving Marilyn Monroe and her trauma shouldn’t be used like this,” said another.
One commenter expressed displeasure by writing, “Another male-centered cover?”
This follows criticism directed at the vocalist of Please Please Please for the original album cover, which showed her laying on the ground with a man clutching her golden hair.
Man’s Best Friend will be released on August 29 for those who are unaware.
