Russia Arms the Entrance; Biden Attempts to reassure Ukraine

Russia sends troops to the entrance. Biden wants to make Ukraine feel better. There was a meeting of the United Nations Safety Council in New York City last year.

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has asked for an open meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Monday to talk about the massing of Russian army forces on Ukraine’s borders with Russia and Belarus.

The meeting of the council, one of the most powerful bodies in the United Nations, will be held soon before Russia takes over the rotating month-to-month presidency from Norway, a strong U.S. ally and a member of the NATO alliance.

She said in a statement on Thursday that the U.S. had asked the meeting to talk about an issue that is important to world peace and security: Russia’s threatening behavior toward Ukraine and the buildup of Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders, as well as in Belarus. This is what the U.S. ambassador said.

The Ambassador: “The Security Council members should look at the facts and think about what’s at stake for Ukraine, for Russia, for Europe, and for the core obligations and ideas of the world order if Russia invades Ukraine again.”

“This isn’t the time to come and see,” she said.

There are growing signs that Russia is planning to invade Ukraine in order to strengthen its grip on power. The meeting comes at a time when Russia is demanding NATO forces leave Eastern Europe and that the alliance promise never to admit Ukraine as a member. The future of diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a Russian invasion isn’t clear any more, tho.

It’s very likely that Russia, one of the Security Council’s permanent members, would almost certainly block any possible move to criticize Russia’s behaviour because it has veto power. Britain, China, France, and the United States are also permanent members. It might be embarrassing for Russia if the 15-member council had an open debate that was broadcast live on the United Nations website.

There was no quick response from Russia’s United Nations mission to the date and time of the meeting. On the other hand, Russia, on the other hand, has been very critical of the way the Ukraine crisis has been portrayed by the U.S. and its allies. Calling on Western countries to pay attention to Russia’s problems, China is a Russian ally and a member of the council.

In a statement earlier this week, the Russian mission said that the United States and other countries like it “cultivate Russophobia in their people and the people of other countries that are like them.” They keep talking about how many Russian troops are being built up as the main reason for almost all of the problems. America says this, but when they say this, they don’t say that it’s Russian forces that are on Russian land. ” This is in contrast to the American and NATO weapons and a lot of advisers that Ukraine and other countries near Russia’s borders have a lot of.

Russia might not be able to get help from many of the council members who are not permanent. Another countries: Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, India, Eire, Kenya, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates are all in that group as well.
