The European Union is “on the decisive second now” for the bloc’s help to Ukraine, its Inner Market Commissioner Thierry Breton stated Wednesday. 

Talking on the EU protection ministers assembly in Stockholm, Breton urged that “it’s completely necessary that we transfer in direction of a kind of battle economic system mode by way of provide and protection trade.”

“We have to do no matter it takes to produce Ukraine, particularly with ammunitions,” he stated.  

The EU’s international coverage chief, Josep Borrell, known as for EU protection leaders to work on a regular procurement scheme within the quick time period and improve protection capability in the long run. 

In a separate interview with CNN Wednesday, Borrell’s spokesperson Peter Stano stated the EU’s high diplomat proposes that the bloc spend $1 billion on joint procurement of “crucially wanted” ammunition for Ukraine.
