Professional-life group resumes anti-abortion marketing campaign in D.C. forward of midterm elections

Dozens of pro-life activists plan to wish Tuesday evening outdoors a Deliberate Parenthood facility within the nation’s capital, resuming a twice-a-year marketing campaign of around-the-clock seasonal outreach at abortion clinics.

The vigil will kick off the autumn marketing campaign of the D.C. chapter of 40 Days for Life, a global pro-life effort that can run from Sept. 28 to Nov. 6.

Organizers say the marketing campaign, the group’s first for the reason that Supreme Courtroom overturned Roe v. Wade in June, is designed to lift consciousness heading into the Nov. 8 midterm elections.

“Relating to the timing, 40 Days for Life just isn’t instantly political,” mentioned Michael New, a Catholic College of America professor who’s organizing the D.C. marketing campaign. “Nevertheless, I believe you will need to elevate the salience of sanctity to life points amongst pro-lifers previous to elections.”

Shawn Carney, co-founder and president of 40 Days for Life, mentioned this fall’s marketing campaign in 622 cities would be the group’s “largest ever.” It comes because the Mannheim Administrative Courtroom dominated in Germany final month that native abortion clinics couldn’t block the marketing campaign’s silent prayer gatherings.

“Whereas many are claiming the overturning of Roe will encourage the pro-abortion base, they’ve ignored what the tip of Roe has achieved for the huge, extremely motivated pro-life grassroots,” Mr. Carney mentioned in an e mail.

The professional-life group claims to have saved the lives of greater than 20,000 infants since its first marketing campaign in 2007.
