William McGurn is a member of The Wall Avenue Journal editorial board and writes the weekly “Essential Avenue” column for the Journal every Tuesday. Beforehand he served as Chief Speechwriter for President George W. Bush.
Mr. McGurn has served as chief editorial author for The Wall Avenue Journal in New York. He spent greater than a decade abroad — in Brussels for The Wall Avenue Journal/Europe and in Hong Kong with each the Asian Wall Avenue Journal and the Far Japanese Financial Evaluation. And within the mid-Nineteen Nineties, he was Washington Bureau Chief for Nationwide Evaluation.
Invoice is writer of a guide on Hong Kong (“Perfidious Albion”) and a monograph on terrorism (“Terrorist or Freedom Fighter”). He’s a member of the Council on International Relations, holds a BA in philosophy from Notre Dame and an MS in Communications from Boston College.
