American larger training is in disaster. The rise of variety, fairness and inclusion bureaucracies and a rising intolerance for dissent has spurred political battles for management of campus decision-making in North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and elsewhere. The fights level to a basic query: Who “owns” a college? Maybe the query is best phrased: To whom does a faculty belong?

Within the aggressive personal market, possession is evident. When Elon Musk buys an organization like Twitter, few query his authority to fireside employees or change entry guidelines.
