Among the many extra grating elements (and there have been many) of President Biden’s Independence Corridor speech final week had been his repeated references to election deniers. “Democracy can’t survive when one aspect believes there are solely two outcomes to an election: both they win or they’re cheated,” he thundered. “I cannot stand by and watch elections on this nation stolen by individuals who merely refuse to simply accept that they misplaced.”
