New Delhi: Officials from Covid in Delhi

To expedite the financial support scheme available to dependents of people who died as a result of Covid-19, Delhi government officials would visit the applicants’ homes to check and collect the necessary papers.

According to the Delhi government order, in order to carry out the process, the Delhi government has created a pool of 100 officials at the SDM level who will be used for home visits of such applicants who have applied on the e-district portal for verification and to collect deficient documents, if any.

According to news agency IANS, around 8,000 applications have been made under the Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana, with less than half of them belonging to the Health Department’s list of 25,000 cases.

The staff would be in charge of telling the family members they are visiting about the scheme and assisting them in completing the application form. The administration shared a list from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) with all 11 districts to ensure that affected families are contacted.

This workout will take seven days to complete. If the applicant does not wish to take advantage of the scheme’s benefits or is unable to do so at home, the order states that the same may be documented by the official in charge.

This Covid-19 relief initiative was created by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and it provides impacted families with monthly financial aid as well as a flat sum ex gratia payment when they complete out a form.

The Department of Social Welfare will administer this scheme, which will give families with an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 and a monthly stipend of Rs 2,500 if the dead was the family’s lone breadwinner.

Since March 2020, the capital city has recorded 14,38,685 coronavirus cases.
