Mariah Carey talked candidly about the “tough” task of parenting children together following a divorce, describing her attempts to treat her twins fairly.
The 56-year-old singer and her ex-husband Nick Cannon were married in April 2008 and separated in 2016. They have twins, a 14-year-old daughter named Monroe and a 14-year-old boy named Moroccan.
On Tuesday, July 29, Carey spoke to Harper Bazaar about their approach to co-parenting, asking, “How can I express this? They enjoy a nice time when they are with him. They enjoy themselves when they are with me.
My only Christmas wish is “I want to make sure I’m always fair about the situation because it’s tough to grow up with divorced parents,” the hitmaker went on.
With ten additional children—Golden, 8, Powerful Queen, 4, and Rise, 3—as well as twins Zion and Zillion, 3, and a daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 2 with Abby De La Rosa, Cannon’s circumstances are complicated.
The 44-year-old comedian is also the father of two children, Onyx, and Legendary, with Bre Tiesi and LaNisha Cole, respectively. Additionally, he has a 2-year-old daughter named Halo with Alyssa Scott, with whom he had a son named Zen who passed away at the age of five months due to brain cancer.
