16 years after Oasis’s shocking breakup, Liam and Noel Gallagher eventually got back together on stage, proving that they had really put their differences aside.
Oasis made their long-awaited return on Friday night, July 4, when the legendary brothers walked arm in arm onto the Principality Stadium stage.
A shout of applause reverberated through Cardiff’s streets as the Gallagher brothers’ brief embrace on stage threw their already ecstatic supporters into a frenzy.
For the uninitiated, the reunion tour was the first time Liam and Noel Gallagher had performed together on stage in more than 15 years, after a 2009 altercation in a Parisian dressing room that resulted in Oasis’ abrupt split.
When Noel famously called Liam “a fork in a world of soup,” he declared that he would never again collaborate with him, laying the groundwork for their acrimonious conflict.
The Manchester-born twins, who rose to popularity in the 1990s, engaged in a verbal sparring match throughout the course of the following 14 years, insulting each other in interviews and on social media.
But in the end, it was Liam who made the effort to reconcile with Noel, a source subsequently disclosed.
