King Charles hopes to transmit a message of togetherness and healing as huge renovations occur at the Palace.
The monarch’s staff released details on Tuesday about an important meeting at Buckingham Palace that resulted in a signed document.
The news came shortly after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their choice during the Invictus Games in Canada.
The Palace posted a picture with a carousel of photo highlights from the encounter.
“The King received Muslim and Jewish faith leaders at Buckingham Palace today, in recognition of their work developing new Muslim-Jewish Reconciliation Accords, which were signed earlier in the day,” a statement reads.
It said, “The ‘Drumlanrig Accord’ lays out a framework for cooperation and understanding, guaranteeing that the Muslim and Jewish communities can overcome obstacles together while promoting respect and solidarity.”
“For many years, the King has worked to celebrate religious diversity in the UK and Commonwealth and to foster greater understanding between various faiths and communities.”
Following the announcement that Meghan will be returning alone to California to be with their two children, Princess Lilibet, age three, and Prince Archie, age five, the tweet was posted.
Harry is anticipated to remain at the Games through Sunday’s closing ceremony.
Meghan’s travel plans have been kept secret for security concerns, so it’s unclear if she will be attending the closing ceremony again.
