John Turturro Tries Male Modeling After “Severance”

John Turturro questioned whether he had fallen into an Italian wormhole and ended himself back on the set of “Severance” when he noticed that the grassy knoll used for Zegna’s runway show was the location.

Backstage after the event, Mr. Turturro, still bursting with enthusiasm from his first-ever runway modeling stint, remarked, “That was my first thought.”

You see, Zegna’s lush stage resembled a set from the Friday premiere of Season 2 of “Severance.” Since the season’s trailer shows the nubby green countryside, talking about it isn’t really a spoiler. Nevertheless, the 67-year-old American journeyman actor Mr. Turturro played a metaphysically divided Lumon Industries employee on the episode.

Mr. Turturro was delighted to talk about his cameo as a model for Zegna, who is 115 years old. Zegna utilized the collection to launch Vellus Aureum designs, which it claims are produced from the finest wool in the world. For the record, the environment was created to imitate the meadow where sheep graze. Wool, sheep, and grass. I understand.)

Mr. Turturro, still wearing the swishy pleated pants and plunging V-neck sweater he wore on the runway, remarked, “That was my virginal walk.” It was laying close by, the va-va-voom tweed coat he had shed.

This was no “severance” costume. The corporate cogs of that program plod around in uninspired no-iron shirts and blue suits, which make them look so unobtrusive that they are practically invisible.
