On the set of his most recent film, John Goodman is nearly unrecognizable.
On July 13, the 73-year-old attended the Smurfs movie premiere in Los Angeles, where his noticeably smaller frame was the main attraction.
Since starting his weight reduction journey, the Roseanne has allegedly shed 200 pounds.
The American actor finished his ensemble with loafers and wore a blue suit, white shirt, and brown tie.
Around 2007, he stopped drinking and started exercising, which resulted in significant dietary modifications.
Goodman “wanted to live life better,” which is why he made these adjustments.
As Goodman told People in 2010, “I know it sounds sappy, but it was a waste.” “Determining what to eat next while sitting on your ass requires a lot of creative energy.”
He has now adjusted to these modifications throughout his life.
“I just stopped eating all the time,” the Monster University alumnus told ABC News in 2016.
When I had a handful of food, it would end up in my mouth. All I was doing was eating intoxicatedly. I used to take three months off, drop sixty or seventy pounds, celebrate myself with a six-pack of Bud or whatever, and then simply resume my previous routine.
“I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore,” Goodman went on. I simply became weary of staring at my reflection. You don’t want to see yourself when you’re shaving in front of the mirror. It becomes risky.
“I think you’re trying to fill a hole that can’t be filled unless it’s filled with goodness, some kind of spirituality, not saying religion,” he said, expressing his inner emotional condition at the moment.
“But just a belief in something higher than yourself, a purpose,” Goodman went on to disclose. However, rather of stuffing it with food, drugs, or alcohol, you just accept its existence. It cannot be filled. You continue to live with it.
