Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, is an Indian singer, rapper, producer and actor. Honey Singh reveals why he doesn’t date Indian women
Honey Singh has been the talk of the town since he released his documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, on Netflix. The singer, who is known for his iconic songs, shared the raw and unfiltered side of his life in the film. He opened up about his previous relationships, his marriage with his ex-wife, Shalini Talwar, and his mental health struggles. Now, in a video released by Netflix India on its official YouTube channel, Honey sat for a chat with Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi and Kullu, aka Aaditya Kulshreshth. During the conversation, when Honey is asked if it’s complicated for him to date being a famous person, the singer responded:
“Yes, it depends on whom you’re trying to woo. It’s very problematic as an Indian celebrity that you cannot date an Indian woman because she knows you already in a certain way. That entourage goes with you wherever you go. So you never know if she likes you or the lavish life you’re living.”
Honey Singh confirms he is dating someone
In the same conversation, when Honey Singh is asked if he is seeing someone, he answers affirmatively. Tanmay Bhatt chimes in and lightheartedly pokes Aaditya Kulshreshth, who had asked the singer about his dating life, that the latter shouldn’t ask such pressure questions. Honey cuts the former off and says that he is fine with it as he is open about his relationships.
Honey Singh reveals how he finds people to date
During the conversation, Honey Singh continues to address the issues of dating as a famous person. He revealed that he likes to find people to date at a place where he is not known. He added that he has tried this technique on various occasions, and it has worked for him. Honey shared that he used to share about his real identity with his partners after months. He stated:
“So in my life, I like to go hunting where I am not known. And I’ve tried it many times and have been successful. I would tell them who I was after many months. So, I have a secret name, Mahir…expert. He (Honey Singh’s personal assistant, Shubham Gupta) would be with me and would ask, ‘Sir, the boarding pass and ticket is for which lady exactly? When this lady goes to this destination, will she come back, or will it be someone else?'”

Talking further about his dating games and tactics, Honey Singh revealed that he doesn’t use such antics with women anymore as he is in love. When Aaditya Kulshreshth said that the singer is a lover at heart, the latter replied and said whatever he has done, he has done to the extreme. Hearing Honey, comedian, Rohan Joshi chimed in and poked a joke at the singer and called him ‘Yo Yo Honey Simp’.
