Household sues after police seize public sale goat for slaughter

REDDING, Calif. – A Northern California household is submitting a federal lawsuit in opposition to sheriff’s deputies for seizing a younger woman’s pet goat, Cedar, which was later slaughtered at an area public sale.

Shasta County engineer Jessica Lengthy and her minor daughter filed the lawsuit in opposition to Shasta County Sheriff’s Workplace officers, Lt. Jerry Fernandez and detectives Jacob Duncan and Jeremy Ashbee.
