Taking care of your skin is an everyday commitment. Consistency in following a skincare routine can have a significant difference in your skin’s health as well as its appearance.

Cleanse Your Skin Gently

Hydrate with a Good Moisturizer

After cleansing it is essential that you lock in moisture with a good quality moisturizer whenever possible. This keeps your skin hydrated and forms a protective barrier against environmental stressors that can damage your skin. 

Even if you have oily skin don’t skip this step you should instead go for something that is a light moisturizer. A non-comedogenic moisturizer that won’t clog your pores is a good choice. Use Your Sunscreen Daily

Sun protection should never be in negotiation. It is something that you should definitely do everyday. Even when there are cloudy days or when you are indoors you should put on your sunscreen. 

UV rays can damage your skin badly. It will lead to premature aging, increase your chances of skin cancer and hyperpigmentation as well. Make sure you’re choosing a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30 and apply it generously 15 minutes before you go out.

Stay Hydrated

Your skin’s health is directly linked to your overall hydration level. Make sure you’re drinking a lot of water throughout the day to help maintain your skin’s elasticity. Drinking water will flush out toxins and prevent a lot of dryness. 

Always aim for at least eight glasses of water every day and consider increasing your intake if you find yourself to be very active.

Get Enough Sleep

Quality sleep is critical for skin care repair and rejuvenation as well. During sleep, your body goes into repair mode healing damage and producing new skin cells. 

You should always aim for 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night so that you wake up refreshed and have glowing skin. Also, try to sleep on your back to avoid sleep lines and wrinkles that you can get when you sleep on your side.
