Gracie Abrams’s Beauty Routine

I prefer to wake up between 6 and 7 a.m., but when I’m touring, it may be anywhere from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sleep is always a question mark because time zones are inconsistent. I got lucky on the latter part of the tour in Europe and the United Kingdom. Our bus was fantastic, and I had the same duvet as I have at home, which was extremely comforting. A morning shower, both hot and cold, quickly clears my mind. At home, I hang eucalyptus from the showerhead since it smells good in steam. My buddy Claudia [Sulewski] runs a firm called Cyklar, and I organized all of her body washes in a row.

I do one pump of each. She also introduced a suction-based lymphatic drainage instrument, which I enjoy using. My hairstylist recommended Oribe shampoo, and I’m not picky about it. I’ve given in to wearing a cap and walking out the door with my hair as it is. I adore the Osea algae body oil, and my go-to body moisturizer is Nivea with almond oil, which smells a little like sunscreen. I usually keep Egyptian Magic [skin cream] in every restroom.

I’ve had a tumultuous connection with my skin since acquiring cystic acne in college. At the end of the day, it’s just skin, but it might feel like the end of the world if it aches to press your cheek against your pillow. Facials with Shar [Hassani] helped me manage my acne. She is a wizard. I use almost exclusively Jan Marini skin care: the vitamin C serum C-ESTA, a hyaluronic acid serum, the Transformation cream, and at night something called Age Intervention Duality, which has virtually eliminated breakouts and is a holy grail product for me. The Hourglass Veil skin tint is now a part of my skin care routine since it makes me feel and appear more even.

As a pale girl, I wonder how I might make myself look alive. I adore Fenty Beauty’s crème blush in Summertime Wine. To fill in my brows, I use Hourglass Arch pencil in Dark Brunette, followed by Göt2b brow gel for hold. Onstage, mascara is essential, but on a daily basis, I curl my lashes and apply Hourglass’s Canyon gel eyeliner to the waterline at the top. For haircuts, I go to Bobby Eliot, who is a legend and an angel, and on tour, I work with Arbana Dollani, a genius hair stylist. She used silver thread to crochet my hair for one show.

Hair bows have become a communal symbol, which is wonderful, and I have a collection of bows that people have graciously made or presented to me. Sandy Liang has several fantastic ones, as does Chanel. In my midnight routine, I enjoy another blistering and then freezing shower. I like knowing that at the conclusion of the day, all of the venue dirt and sweat will be removed from my body. Then it’s time to bring the adrenaline down. I drink a lot of tea. I like a CBD tincture. Journaling is really important for me. This is clichéd, but on tour, I cuddle with my friends and play cards. It’s really healthy and calm.
